Heart On My Sleeve.

Fabric keeps its distance.
Clothing unstitches upon contact.

Insulation offers little assistance.
My exposed skin refuses to interact.

Veins pump overtly.
Goosebumps arise.

Hair grows assertively.
Materials dematerialize.

Impossible to protect.
My true coating unveiled.

Clothing refuses to intersect.
Immunity has failed.

Susceptible and sensitive.
My wrapper has been removed.

Useless and ineffective.
Wounds interrupt the smooth.

The king of hearts has dealt.
With this hand I can never win.

Every emotion felt.
Against my unsheltered skin.

I wear my heart on my sleeve I cant help it.

Every feeling manifested, I have felt it.

Try to express how I feel with a felt tip.

But my defence decreases with every slight nip.

The Cycle

Here I am again, aching. My heart pounds to my ribs, my lungs squeezing, my chest tightening, hoarding my tears. When I couldn't take it anymore, I'll run back to your safety (cause I don't feel safe with me); a safe haven that I know wouldn't last - a comfort and joy that's temporary. When everything starts crashing, I'll run back to myself again - trying to recover, thinking that I'm healing - then the aching begins again. It's a cycle; it keeps on repeating.

There's an old man sitting on a bench in the park. A scruffy dog by his feet, on his lips a witty remark. Not a tooth in his mouth, but he smiles anyway. I tried to go with simplicity with this piece. Hopeing that I can say as little as possible to have a maximun impact. I wanted to give it a certain pace so it doesnt get disjointed. I hope it works and I hope you guys like it. Poetry is what I love and it is all I have. Some say I have talent others dont. Ill let you guys decide on that one lol let me know what you think

Wow! I really enjoyed this piece. At first I will be honest I wasn't sure where it was going, but as I read it, each verse peaked my interest more and more. I really enjoyed the rhyme scheme it gave it a very soothing flow to it.
