Replace a negative with a positive.
Combine a horizontal line with a vertical.
Find a balance between action and the cognitive.
However this process is all but surgical.
Positivity is not always visible.
Negativity over shadows its authority.
Its effects are not always easily dismissible.
You just have to realise what is your primary priority.
These mentalities regularly intertwine.
And have become apart of our genetic design.
Anything can trigger a change in your attitude.
And this will then determine your emotional latitude.

It Came From The Dark
It Came From The Dark:
Amongst the ashes, swirling from the darkness of the pit,
Emerged a hand, dragging a battered body across the rocks.
Blood leaked from the wounds so callously self-inflicted,
And teeth ground with a focused determination and seething anger.
It cared not for the warm rubies - staining the jagged rocks,
It cared not for the sensation of pain...
All that it remembered was a dream, An obsession -
One that drove it ever higher; ignoring all else!
Eventually it emerged from this shadowy hole, this dreary depth,
And in that moment, it learned of the truth.
For this creature, denied sunlight and warmth -
was me...

You Can't Stop Me
You Can't Stop Me:
Cold, I'm sittin' here,
You see me cut the lights out
Stains on the inside;
I'm tired of being wiped out.
Cleaned, like the stone weathered down in the rain,
You wore me down to my core; now let me bring on the pain!
Uh-huh, now let me turn it slow for you all
Uh-huh, I'm grabbin' at the stars till they fall
Uh-huh, I'm never gonna die; I stand tall
Uh-huh, I'm breakin' through this fuckin' brick wall.
You know, that I will be the voice in your mind.
You know, that it will be the lyrical kind
You see, the way I put my words into rhyme
If I was rapping out of rhythm, man this would be a crime.
So hear, my vo

Eternal Life [Remix]
Eternal Life [Remix]:
We are creatures of mortality
Born to live and die.
Yet there are those amongst us
Who resent the last goodbye.
They see it as an end to things;
The call of colder waves.
They have a fear of being trapped;
Locked away in graves.
But deep beneath the buried earth
No one hears you scream.
Pound and smash against the coffin;
End this horrid dream!
Kiss the flower of the reaper
Bear his blissful touch...
Soon you will be wisked away
Warm within his clutch!
But now you know the dreaded fear
Of why we cannot die.
We hear the reaper calling us
That we cannot lie.
In both our dreams and waking nights;
We se

Vision: 5/5
The subject matter are two intangible emotions, yet you show how powerful each is and how they work together day to day.
Originality: 5/5
Use of words like 'surgical,' 'authority,' 'priority' throws into shock relief an individual's perception of Positive and Negative, and reminds that each state of being is a choice.
Technique: 4.5/5
The process is all but surgical.
:bullegreeen: Word Choice: Omit the use of 'however' and other transition words in your poetry. The line gains more strength when you focus on the Subject of the sentence - Process.
Impact: 5/5
Having struggled with depression, doubt, and other all-consuming negative feelings, I am drawn to this poem as a reminder that there is a reason to look at the word as "light" rather than "dark."
