Racism will always be a complex and hazardous topic.

It is something that is deeply implanted within our logic.

It may be expressed in the form of a humorous joke.

Or may be intentionally announced in order to provoke.

Because they know that it is guaranteed to get a reaction.

And we impulsively give them that much needed satisfaction.

Somehow we feel the need to defend our specified skin colour.

We fight fire with fire to defend our heritage with misguided honour.

That's why racism can never be vanquished or become extinct.

It is how the world works and even if we don't say it, we will always think

I can't describe to you how much I love her.
I actually feel nauseous just at the thought of her even thinking of another.
In all my short life I never even thought I would ever discover.
A woman that I would be proud to name as my baby's mother.
I know that if I were to hypothetically loose everything, we would still have each other
And it is my chest only that she will caress under the cover.
Of course we are bound to argue and I will occasionally confront her.
Although I might not say it, I might even imagine her being someone else's lover.
And it's because of my insecurity and paranoia I end up making her suffer.

He's not able to control his temper.
A blank canvas is all he is able to remember.
Absolute rage consumes his mind refusing any sort of reasoning to enter.
Her dad did the same to her mum, so she attributes it to the nature of his gender.
She has now been admitted four times to A and E since last December.
Abusive love is all she knows; she was never given the chance to experience anything better.

She always forgives him.
Her friends warned her but her heart just wouldn't listen.
He has a hold over her that's why she is not able to resist him.
She condemns her friends as to swift and hasty to dismiss him.

Thinking there is nothing in this world that I have to fear.

Contemplating an appropriate place where we should eat.
I then leant down to re adjust the laces on my feet.

Suddenly a legion of faces loom towards our direction.
Not assuming that we were victims of their brutal inspection.

They approach me in a violent and threatening manner.
My heart clamours and my mouth begins to stammer.

They bombarded me with belittling and derogatory terms
And asked me where I was from as if it any of their concern.

I answered truthfully and tried to mask my anxiety.

I'm trying to make something of myself.

I know nothing is promised and I may not be the fastest.

I know my attempts have not resulted in any form of wealth.

What more can I do to prove to you that this is what I want?

I can see you are finding it difficult to get past this.

You think there is more I can do to help myself.

You can see that I'm struggling; I never tried to mask this.

I want you to understand that this is something I must do for myself.

But all that I will ask for you is,

I hope that one day you will believe in me.

But when he was home his alienation became none existent.
He was able to laugh and smile without any form of resistance.

How stressed I am because of my lack of money.

How much my life actually depends upon it.
How much the fate of my future actually rests upon it.
How easily you can lose friends because of the lust for it.

My stress levels increase to the point where I have had enough of it.
I bury my woeful head because I know it is impossible to run from it.
Although I will always need money, I will never have any love for it.

Without money would there be such a thing as rich and poor?

Despite our efforts to avoid this classification.

You open me everyday.
Sometimes a gentle tug, other times a swift yank.
Then you slam me shut, my joints weaken.
You rummage through my compartments,
Pulling, snatching, grabbing my organs as you please.

My skin reluctantly changes colour,
Chipping and flaking off.
My hand was once steady and firm,
Is now feeble and loose.
Now you open me with ease without resistance.

Will dust and desolation become a familiar force?

A little something I wrote about race and racism. How it affects us and why it is still existent. I hope it works. I tried to make this as simple and symbolic as possible. I hope you guys like it let me know what you think
